“Finally”
After years of creating art as a hobby, and for my own fulfillment, I have finally decided to put my creations on display for public consumption. When I am working on one of my projects, I get into the ultimate flow state. I become so engrossed in what I am doing that hours will fly by without me even noticing. The world around me drops into the background, and the painting or drawing takes up my thoughts completely.
I see my artwork as my legacy. When I am dead and gone, my art will live on to be viewed by others, whether that be on a stranger’s wall, or just by my children’s children. For me, art is a simple form of magic; creating something that never existed in reality, prior to me putting brush to canvas or pencil to paper. As an artist, I get the joy of creating the illusion of depth and dimension on a one-dimensional surface, as if by magic.
